New American Voters are a rapidly growing and emerging, multiracial, multiethnic voting block.
Since the last presidential election nearly 3 million people have become U.S. citizens. In FY 2023 nearly 884,000 people naturalized, following a record setting year in FY2022 when over 1 million people naturalized – a 15-year high.
While we are greatly encouraged by the number of people naturalizing, we know that naturalized voters tend to vote at lower rates than US born voters.
The New American voters campaign aims to close this gap by running a dynamic national campaign which uplifts the stories of first time naturalized voters and their perspective on top issues through polling, media profiles and much more.
